Blog Post #15
This is a new idea. And it wasn’t my idea. It was my daughters. “Dad you have so many great pictures that stand alone. They are not part of a story. What if we feature a new one every month?” and she’s right so here we go.
It’s July and we are celebrating our nation’s 250th birthday. I wanted to show a picture that represented our country‘s birthday. After walking around the house, over and over, and flipping through boxes and trunks for the right one, I kept coming back to this one.

This is a black-and-white that Davidson took a long time ago. He signed it, but unfortunately left no other identification. No title, no index number, no copyright. A one of one. I think he just thought the moment was worth capturing.

The picture appears to be a Fourth of July parade group probably resting after marching the parade route. Young and old black-and-white. Everyone in costume. Our flag probably represented. So I decided to take a closer look. 48 stars. So that places it at 1912 to 1959. If I had to guess, I would say close to 1912. And any thoughts? Let me know!
Everyone have a great celebration this Fourth of July!
Next month? Picture of the month number two!
